JOB DESCRIPTION
The Associate Producer, Talent Relations assists in the production of client-branded-content photography and National Geographic Photographer-related advertising sales campaigns, which involve supporting multiple production shoots and photo assignments across the globe. Under direction from Senior Manager, guide projects and support the other producers on projects from job award, day to day production, attend shoots as prioritized by manager, and complete job wrap through to deliverables receipt and archiving. Support the Talent Relations team with research and tracking photographer's personal and Nat Geo work and maintaining reports on projects and managing the team's billing. Support the Talent Relations team with Diversity and Inclusion efforts by recommending diverse and appropriate Photography Talent assignments across Nat Geo Partners.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain relationships with National Geographic Photographers; experience interacting with high level industry leaders both through proactive outreach and a continued cadence of communication.
• Grow and maintain company ties with important or new editorially assigned National Geographic photographers.
• Handle production tasks such as building out production schedules, tracking shoot dates, delivery dates and facilitate assets for internal teams; be on call for day to day production communication.
• Ensures best practice and smooth job management and proper asset archiving.
• Attend (in person or remote) production shoots to advocate for talent, support their location needs as prioritized by manager.
• Gives talent a guide during on-camera shoots or photo productions that require a buffer from clients on set.
• Input, track and oversee billing for photography related shoots and licenses; organize project notes across the team's producers and maintain annual reports.
• Execute timely payments to ensure a positive experience for talent.
• Work closely with the producer on the team and represent the team to other production departments.
• Ensure that Talent Relations is viewed as source of photography production expertise.
• Manage photographer requests in Talent1 Database, inventorying and prioritizing requests for team.
• Provides excellent customer service to our global requestors.
Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree with 4 years of work experience.
• Apple OS, Adobe Creative Suite/Bridge, Salesforce.
• Possess working knowledge of photography and video formats and best practices.
• Possess working knowledge of model, property releases, insurance and permitting processes.
• Working knowledge of photography contracts.
• Possess working knowledge of photography usage rights and valuation; some experience negotiating rates.
• Possess working knowledge of best-practices in field production and 'live' talent management.
• Familiarity with branded content; ability to discern and communicate the difference between commercial and editorial standards to talent.
• Familiarity with social media and photography platforms.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work on multiple projects at different stages. Calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
• Ability to self-start, self-manage, and meet multiple deadlines, proactively prioritize.
