Narrative is a growing company, and we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. The COO will lead our team of professionals to be more efficient, productive, and effective. The ideal candidate preferably has extensive experience within the entertainment industry and can advise and help grow a cross section of departments. This role requires unique mix of business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of our industry.
Objectives of this role
1. Collaborate with partners in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.
2. Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
3. Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
4. Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
5. Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary.
Responsibilities
1. Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
2. Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with partners.
3. Oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and advise on sufficient capital that can be budgeted for near-term growth targets.
4. Manage expenses to ensure that the company achieves growth and profitability.
Required skills and qualifications
1. Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
2. Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
3. Understanding of business planning.
4. Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
