NAACP Hollywood Bureau Summer PR/Communications Intern
Position Location: Hollywood Bureau
Travel: Minimal
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
The NAACP Hollywood Bureau Summer Internship Program is a ten (10) week internship program for undergraduate students who will work five (5) days a week with Hollywood Bureau staff and will assist with the planning and managing of Bureau events for the Annual Convention.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Reporting to the Director of Talent and Media Relations, responsibilities of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau/FedEx Summer PR/Communications Intern include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Monitor media coverage of entertainment issues of diversity and inclusion.
• Attend meetings as assigned.
• Assist in writing articles/posts for the Bureau’s newsletter, social media and outreach
materials.
• Help to coordinate and produce Hollywood Bureau Convention events.
• Occasional administrative work.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess many, if not all, of the following professional qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:
• Is currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate confidentiality.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and demonstrate a high degree of initiative.
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge SharePoint.
