Part Time Unpaid Internship
Myriad Pictures, an independent film sales and production company, is seeking Development interns for Spring 2021.
As their primary duty, interns will read scripts that are submitted to us for consideration and then write coverage (synopsis and evaluation). They will then have the opportunity to share opinions on each script in our Friday Submissions Meetings for our Acquisitions and Development staff and our CEO. Interns also help to maintain office records, including contacts and talent, and communicate with agencies to check talent availability for upcoming projects. They may also be asked to participate in other development projects as needed. They will gain valuable entertainment office and desk experience while performing remote reception tasks as well as shadowing our CEO's assistant to gain knowledge on the role of an assistant in the entertainment industry.
This position is remote due to COVID-19. Should local conditions change, interns will have the opportunity to work in our West LA office but will not be required to do so.
This internship is a great opportunity to learn more about the entertainment industry and independent film development in particular. Our small team provides opportunities for interns to get to know and collaborate with people at every level.
Although the internship term can be flexible depending on semester schedules, most spring interns start in January and finish in April or May. Time commitments are also flexible depending on academic needs but interns should expect to commit between 10 and 30 hours a week to Myriad.
MUST be able to receive academic credit for participation--this internship is compensated exclusively through academic credit.
MUST be able to attend Friday morning (Pacific time) submissions meetings via Zoom.
