Based in Los Angeles, California, Myriad Pictures is a leading independent entertainment company specializing in production, financing and worldwide distribution of feature films and television programming. The company holds an impressive and diverse library of critically acclaimed art house and commercially successful mainstream filmed programming including Kinsey, Goon, The Good Girl, Factory Girl, Van Wilder, Jeepers Creepers 2, the Academy Award® nominated Margin Call, and the critically acclaimed The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.
The right candidate will gain hands on experience and be exposed to a busy film distribution environment. You will be working with films from development to completion, including international film festivals and markets. This is an exciting internship allowing interns to participate in all aspects of film distribution marketing/publicity and a focus on social media. Internships are for school credit only.
Responsibilities:
-Writing copy and coming up with concepts and ideas for social media posts
-Managing the social media calendar using Hootsuite
-Being current and relevant in our projects and any social media actions around it
-Engaging with talent and filmmakers that we work with on social media
-Search and distribution of press stories posted online about company projects
-Formatting and filing press breaks, maintaining reports, posting press links online
-Maintain film festival reports: requests, dates, distributors, etc.
-Help with film market/festival preparations
Basic Qualifications:
-Has laptop
-Very good written and verbal communication skills
-Creative mindset
-Pro-active, detail-oriented, and strong follow-up skills
-Personable and friendly, comfortable with meeting new people
-Previous social media proven track record of success
-Must be able to receive college credit
Internship starts January 2019 / able to commit 2-3 days a week.
