VP of Development

Job Description:

MY Entertainment, a Media Content Services company is hiring a VP of Development for its New York City office.

This role is ideal for a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about unscripted/non-fiction TV and understands that the media landscape is changing.

The VP of Development will generate and develop new projects, manage a slate of non-fiction/unscripted original programming and pitch and sell projects. Responsibilities also include crafting and writing treatments and pitch decks and creating and overseeing development sizzles, casting reels, etc. The VP of Development will also be responsible for identifying and developing new talent, building new relationships in the media industry as well as handling and evaluating incoming pitches for series, documentaries, and other content.

The VP will report to the EVP of Development.

Qualifications and Experience
• 6+ years of professional experience in unscripted/non-fiction TV development and production with a focus on formats and returning series.
• Experience and passionate interest/knowledge of unscripted/non-fiction television and streaming as well as feature films/documentaries past and present.
• Relationships and contacts in the non-fiction/unscripted television business across networks, streamers, agencies, and production companies.
• Experience selling/pitching projects.
• Exceptional work ethic and organizational skills.
• Exceptional writing skills.
• Strong background in creative analysis and story structure.
• Strong team and partnership skills.
• Ability to work with a large group of creative people.
• Detailed, ahead-of-the-curve knowledge of all current and emerging media content providers and their goals for content.
