MUST HAVE GAME INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE OR TV / FILM MARKETING, TARGETING THE GAMER DEMOGRAPHIC.
MWM Interactive is hiring a Social Media / Community Manager to join its team to manage social media and community activation.
The successful candidate will create and execute social media strategy and plans across MWMI's diverse and growing game portfolio to drive return on marketing investment. S/he will be expected to create deep post-launch analysis, and understand how to create authentic connections with players. This person will need to think strategy first and execute social campaigns across multiple titles, genres and platforms.
The ideal candidate has:
-Experience working in the games industry; possesses a background in social media marketing, influencer relations and communities and digital marketing.
-Strong oral and written communication skills required - you must be able to write and copyedit.
-Understanding of the difference between AAA and Indie games/ gamers and where those players consume media.
-A love of all things ''geek culture''.
-Exceptional project management skills, current with relevant trends, a positive attitude, and thrives in a dynamic environment.
-Proven track record of launching social media campaigns, and recruiting key community members as participants in events and activations to support the strategic objectives
-Experience with photo and video editing software.
-Deep understanding of metrics and reporting.
-Hands on paid social experience.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with the VP or Marketing to create effective audience development plans that are built on insights and analytics, and then --implement the tactical elements of the plan
-Manage overall social media plans, calendars and platforms
-Build and engage with MWMI's communities across social handles (comment, like, repost on Discord, Reddit, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and other platforms as it makes sense)
-Draft and send email blasts to product communities
-Identify and engage with superfans and influencers
-Detect core themes, tropes, and cross consumption habits of the fanbase
-Identify possible crossover and collaboration opportunities
-Advocate internally on behalf of the player ensuring that company and development priorities are informed of player needs
-Identify events to participate in or engage with, both in-person and virtually
-Own the process of mapping out relevant keywords, hashtags, platforms, general audience behaviors, and the reporting thereof
-Monitor and report on overall project process in order to refine audience development strategy and tactics
-Collaborate with VP of marketing and media agency to develop efficient and compelling campaigns.
-Identify and implement influencer marketing strategies and tactics for key product and campaign launches and will be responsible for ensuring global content guidelines are executed in all resulting content
-Stay on top of industry and competitive campaigns and trends, identify innovate ROI positive opportunities.
-Communicate directly with fans, building strong relationships and maintaining a visible external presence on social media sites and forums.
-Claim and protect brand names on social networks.
-Must solve routine problems effectively and react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
-Support VP or marketing in other projects as needed.
-Excellent interpersonal skills - Friendliness, diplomacy are a must.
-Understanding of the day-to-day needs and emotions of gamers is crucial.
-Monitor discussion forums and other communication media to identify common player issues and discussion patterns.
-Conceptualize and execute community-facing initiatives including contests, volunteer programs, offline events, convention presence, viral -initiatives, promotional opportunities and email campaigns.
-Help define and maintain community strategy, including methods for acquisition, engagement, moderation policies, content building, and influencer and other outreach initiatives.
Content:
-Support and help generate asset releases, including screenshots, videos, patches, and demos.
-Understanding of design layout best practices.
-Understand the role of content, not only within marketing channels, but within the consumer/ community journey with an eye towards conversion optimization.
-Partner with the creative teams and agencies to advise on compelling content for various mediums and channels, develop test ideas, and manage a/b testing assets
Reporting:
-Own key marketing reports around conversion rates, and campaign performance.
-Compile and distribute Weekly and Monthly metric reports ensuring upwards visibility, as well as helping inform what metrics are valuable.
-Create trend reports on other cultural interests in the product communities.
