Murnane Casting is seeking a part-time Casting Assistant to support Chad Eric Murnane, CSA, and Amber Snead, CSA on theatre projects including Broadway and Off-Broadway, national tours, regional theatre, developmental readings, and world premieres. This is a hands-on role with exposure to the full casting process at all stages of development.
This is a hybrid position. Applicants must be based in the New York metropolitan area, as we are not considering candidates outside the NYC metro area. The role requires the ability to commute into the city for in-person auditions and callbacks as needed, sometimes on short notice. Hours fluctuate with project schedules, typically 5-10 hours per week during slower periods and up to 30 hours per week when projects are active.
No prior casting experience is required. This role is highly administrative in nature, and we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys organization, logistics, and keeping an office running. This role is not intended for those actively pursuing acting work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate audition logistics, including scheduling, submissions, and in-person/Zoom sessions
• Prepare casting materials, including breakdowns, self-tape instructions, sides, and session sheets
• Audition room setup, taping, and basic video editing
• Research talent, check avails, draft offer memos, and maintain tracking databases and spreadsheets
• Provide general administrative and office support, including communication with actors, agents, managers, producers, and creative teams, as well as website and social media updates
QUALIFICIATIONS:
• 18+ years old
• Based in the New York metropolitan area and able to commute into NYC as needed
• Laptop, cell phone, and reliable internet access
• Strong interest in casting and theatre
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable managing high-volume logistics across multiple projects
