Full Time Job
Multitude Films is seeking a full-time Finance Manager.
Multitude Films an LGBTQ women-led production company dedicated to nonfiction storytelling by and about underrepresented voices and is best known for films like Pray Away, Always in Season, and The Feeling of Being Watched, among others.
The Finance Manager works under the supervision of the President and oversees the Multitude Film's fiscal activity, including budgeting norms and templates, cash flow strategies, accounts receivable, reporting, bookkeeping, fiscal sponsorship, payroll, payments, and auditing; assures company's legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitors compliance with laws and regulations; identifies and addresses financial risks and opportunities for the company. The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of Multitude Films, works in close coordination with the President in the financial management of the company, and works in close coordination with lead producers in the financial planning and management of film projects.
The Finance Manager manages the financial onboarding paperwork, tracking, and payments for all crew, employees, and independent contractors. Additionally, the Finance Manager may be asked to perform other tasks as reasonably required under the instruction of the President related to the operations of Multitude Films or the production of specific films and will be credited in accordance with their contribution on each film. The Finance Manager may represent Multitude Films publicly including on panels, Q&As, and mentorships, as well as with their digital presence. The Finance Manager works with the directors, key crew, and external partners across all of Multitude Films projects and will maintain an environment of mutual respect, non-discrimination, and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Bookkeeping
• Maintain all bookkeeping data entry, bank reconciliations
• Processing payroll
• Processing weekly payments across projects, while communicating reliably with all external partners
• Issue and track all invoices
• Open, close and maintain bank accounts
• Collecting W9 forms, issuing 1099-MISC forms
Financial Management / Accounting
• Develops and maintains financial systems and processes
• Tracking all accounts receivable for all projects and the company
• Submitting and tracking fiscal sponsor disbursement requests
• Preparing financial reports for fiscal sponsors, distributors, and other entities as needed
• Preparing financial deliverables for distributors, etc.
• Provide accurate, detailed and timely finance scenarios, cost reports, cash flows for all projects and the company
• Preparing and maintaining waterfall scenarios, investor recoupment schedules
• Working with the accountants on year-end tax returns
• Working with outside auditors as required
Other
• Adapt to changing scenarios, anticipate problems and recommend solutions to Producers
• Manage all insurance applications, policies, and payments for the company and across projects
• Represent Multitude Films on panels, through thought-leadership and writing
Qualifications
• Production accounting experience
• Experience working with a 3rd party production payroll company
• Proficiency with Excel and Quickbooks required.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment and liaising across multiple teams
Location: Our office is at 594 Dean Street, Suite 43, Brooklyn NY 11238. This role can be remote, but may require occasional travel to Brooklyn for in-person work, whenever that is something we all do again!
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Benefits offered.
