The MTV/VH1/CMT Insights & Strategy team exists to understand consumers and culture, ensuring they are at the center of everything we do. Our purpose is to stay on top of media and generational trends, by consulting syndicated research and conducting custom quantitative and qualitative research, to craft guidelines that lead to more meaningful connections with audiences and ultimately more time spent with our brands.
We are currently looking for a Senior Manager of Marketing Insights and Strategy that will report into the Vice President of Marketing Insights and Strategy. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge and real passion for media, entertainment and consumer insight. This role will be primarily responsible for monitoring brand health and audience trends for MTV/VH1/CMT, as well as keeping a finger on the pulse of what’s happening and most effective in the media marketing landscape, more broadly. The Sr. Manager role will serve as a key resource for various stakeholders across Marketing, Brand/Creative, Event, Digital and Social Media, providing recommendations backed with qualitative and quantitative research. Research projects will support marketing needs across linear, social and digital platforms, as well as some more long-term strategic projects related to maximizing brand, creative, and marketing effectiveness.
What You Will Do
• Provide analyses that generate a clear understanding of our target audience, our brands’ perception and marketing opportunities.
• Support the marketing department with audience insights that lead to more effective creative
• Design, coordinate and execute a variety of testing projects ranging from creative concepts to naming, logos and promotional materials
• Help establish KPIs and campaign tracking efforts.
• Oversee the execution of quantitative and qualitative research projects and communicate findings to various internal and external stakeholders
• Consult the latest content and marketing trends through syndicated research resources.
• Collaborate with and lead external research vendors and oversee project management
• Provide cultural context to drive existing and new marketing ideas, assessing viability and recommending optimizations.
• Oversee and interpret brand tracking efforts to assess brand strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
• Travel may sometimes be required to conduct research across the U.S.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the entertainment / media landscape.
• Expertise driving marketing effectiveness through consumer testing.
• Fluent tracking and interpreting marketing performance metrics across all channels.
• Familiar with programs and strategies of broadcast, cable networks and streaming services.

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge conceiving, designing, fielding, coordinating, analyzing and disseminating qualitative and quantitative research projects.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research techniques—e.g., focus groups, surveys, etc.
• High level of accuracy, and attention to detail, with strong analytic and project management abilities
• Highly organized, collaborative self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, handle multiple large scale projects and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable candidate to interact with a wide range of personalities and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization
• Comfortable presenting in team meetings
• Masterful knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
• Experience with social listening platforms a plus (e.g., Canvs, Sysomos, Crimson Hexagon, ListenFirst, etc.)
• Experience with Nielsen ratings data a plus
• Love of all things television and pop culture
