Full Time Job
• Serve as point person in Nashville office for CMT communications’ initiatives while also working with NY and LA communications team across MTV’s suite of brands (MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo)
• Create/oversee campaigns for programming, tentpoles, social impact, etc.
• Bring to the role strong relationships with a wide range of Nashville/Country Music and consumer/trade
• Manage junior staff
• Understand and promote brand messaging in pitches/stories
• Explore and execute trade opportunities surrounding show assignments (e.g. greenlights, renewals, etc.)
• Lead ratings release efforts on assigned projects
• Create and edit press materials for respective series; edit copy from junior staff
• Identify/execute key speaking opportunities for executives through panels/speaking engagements and industry “top executive” lists
• Some Travel required and work hours outside of a traditional schedule
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required in a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in entertainment publicity with escalating responsibility
• Excellent writing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience with crisis PR
• Prior experience mentoring and supervising subordinate staff members
• Excellent problem solver and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Acts with tact and diplomacy and remains professional in all situations
• Demonstrated ability to build and grow relationships, both internally and within the media industry
• Expert knowledge of the country music scene and Nashville community
Additional Qualifications
• Team player who works collaboratively with internal executives and outside constituents
• Ability to work under tight deadlines across multiple projects
