The Coordinator of MTVE Program Planning and Scheduling will work with the programming team to provide scheduling operations and strategy support for MTV and MTVE Networks.
Responsibilities
• Work with team to generate ideas and execute weekly schedule and revisions to MTV's program schedules
• Create and update metadata (program information, licenses, contracts and schedules) in PTS (Program Tracking System) scheduling software for originals and acquisitions
• Schedule episodes, movies and versions in PTS; build schedule grids and generate logs daily
• Export schedule grids and provide maintenance to prepare for mass distribution
• Review weekly listings and communicate with external partners to ensure accuracy
• Distribute schedules and schedule changes/updates to MTV Entertainment group
• Screen, research and create episode schedules for stunts and events
• Track sister networks airdate requests to avoid schedule overlap between networks
• Track competitive information for programming content on variety of platforms (broadcast, cable, streaming)
• Serve as back-up to other coordinators on the team
• Assist with projects, special events and requests as needed for the larger MTVE group
Basic Qualifications
• B.A. / B.S. in Communications or related field
• Prior experience working in television planning/scheduling highly preferred, can include internship experience, and/or a minimum of three years of experience assisting a senior level executive
Additional Qualifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Prior experience using PTS software highly preferred
• Resourceful and able to work effectively with little supervision
• Excellent organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication
• Television enthusiast with passion for cable programming
• Able to work outside of a traditional work schedule if business needs dictate
