The Job
We're seeking a Senior Producer of social media strategy to join MSNBC Digital. This role is for someone who has a passion for MSNBC and thrives in creating compelling social content in a fast-paced newsroom. A producer who sparks creativity and executes by delivering shareable content that enhances the MSNBC brand. You have a deep knowledge of all social media platforms â€'' Instagram, TikTok, Threads and YouTube. You can identify a compelling story immediately and produce engaging digital content on those stories. If you're always looking to create that viral clip and have a love for the MSNBC brand, this role is for you. This role will report to the EP of content strategy and development.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, edit and publish compelling, shareable videos across MSNBC digital platforms
• Lead a team of producers, associate producers, editors
• Elevate the creative look and feel of content on every platform
• Oversee daily projects, review edits, imagery, captions before approving and publishing
• Know the tone and brand of MSNBC talent and shows
• Ability to turn breaking news content under tight deadlines
• Collaborate with other editorial leaders for special content
• Collaborate across platforms on breaking news, news making interviews, special events
• Maintain the highest level of quality control with strong editorial judgement
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years experience producing video for digital, cable or broadcast news
• Deep understanding of producing content for Instagram, TikTok, Threads and YouTube
• Must know the MSNBC brand and MSNBC talent
• Experience in creating content for breaking news
• Experience in managing social video producers, associate producers and production associates
• Strong editorial judgement
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and social in-app editing tools
• A strong understanding of social analytics, and the ability to provide informed feedback on content performance
