Media Associate Producer, MSNBC
Responsibilities
MSNBC is looking for a Media Associate Producer to work with MSNBC Reports weekday shows. The ideal candidate is ambitious with a passion for journalism and a curiosity for all news beats, who is seeking a position that will train them to be a well-rounded segment producer with an ability to excel in any future role.
Responsibilities:
• Work on weekday MSNBC news programs as a graphics producer, video producer, and writing associate producer
• Locate and identify the most compelling video, and either straight cut or work with editors to get it to air
• Write editorial for compelling and informative graphics, coordinate with artists during their production
• Write and produce guest and reporter segments for MSNBC Reports weekday show teams
• Coordinate with reporters and field producers to create elements for use across all MSNBC Reports programming
• Pitch story ideas (day-of, next day, futures)
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Demonstrated writing skills and knowledge of current
events, politics and pop culture.
• Strong research skills and news judgment.
• Previous work or internship experience in a newsroom.

Desired Characteristics
• 2 years of experience in journalism (i.e. cable or network
news, website, newspaper, student publication or
academic/practical training).
• Edit room experience and breaking news experience.
• Excels under deadline pressure.
