The SVP Global Partnerships Sales will develop, lead, and execution of the global partnership and sponsorship sales program. The goal is to develop and lead a world-class sales and service organization maximizing revenue, partner quality and value from our partner base.
The candidate must be highly sophisticated in all aspects of global sports partnership and must have access to and the respect of CEO/CMO level clients at top corporations. In addition, they must be able to build consensus with internal MSGE/MSGS division heads to build and sell integrated partnership solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing sales teams, closing complex, multi-million-dollar deals, and managing cross-functional stakeholders across international markets.
The SVP Global Partnerships Sales will drive the Signature level partnership sales efforts for the Garden, including large cross-venue and platform deals; all partnership sales for the New York Knicks, New York Rangers and supporting properties (Westchester, Hartford), MSGE Sports Properties, entertainment’s bookings, and productions.
What will you do?
• Lead, shape, and drive a multi-channel global sales strategy that continues to deliver rapid year-over-year growth for MSG companies.
• Identify, target, and secure high-value strategic partners to generate incremental revenue and brand value.
• Apply a metrics-driven, bottoms-up approach to drive sales insight, opportunity, and results.
• Grow and manage a world-class team of sales leaders capable of driving explosive results across a wide variety of product categories and partners
• Responsible for long-term revenue planning, sales targets, terms of sale negotiations, category management, and cooperative marketing programs.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s markets, competitors, sales cycles, new business opportunities and consumer trends.
• Cultivate and maintain C-suite level relationships with key clients and global brand executives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, legal, and finance teams to support deal success and execution.
• Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic updates to executive leadership and the board.
What do you need to succeed?
• 15 years of experience in sales, business development, or partnership management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading and scaling global distribution across multiple channels, geographies, and segments.
• Ability to drive and manage change management programs across functionally and geographically distributed strategic partner organizations.
• A forward-thinking leader fueled by a strong desire to achieve, with proven experience to inspire passion and drive with an adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced growth environment
• Excellence in pitching, negotiating, and closing six, seven and eight figure annual marketing partnership deals.
• Key relationships with senior level marketing executives in national/regional brands.
• Knowledge of sports, music, media, and entertainment marketing platforms.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing distributed teams.
• Experience leading high-performing teams across a variety of disciplines.
