Manager, Event Production
Location: Madison Square Garden venues (Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theatre, Madison Square Garden, The Theater at MSG)
Position Summary:
The Manager Event Production is responsible for the successful advancement and completion of assigned events, such as concerts, family shows, and sporting events, across Madison Square Garden venues. This role includes managing operational execution, acting as a liaison between clients and venue teams, and ensuring events meet high standards of operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all event planning with clients and venue teams from initial advancement to load-out, including staging, lighting, sound, and seating arrangements
• Generate and update budgets throughout the event process; track costs against budget for settlement purposes
• Produce AutoCAD drawings for event layouts, collaborating with departments like Box Office, Finance, and Building Operations
• Work with external agencies to ensure compliance with work rules, codes, and policies
• Schedule and direct union and non-union labor teams; manage transition from event operations to equipment load-out
• Troubleshoot event-day issues and respond to emergencies promptly
• Monitor client and guest experience quality through observation and feedback
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in live event production management
• Technical knowledge of rigging, engineering, power provisions, safety protocols, and Union regulations (I.A.T.S.E, I.B.E.W, Theatrical Teamsters)
• Understanding of building codes and fire safety for MSG venues
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD
• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and resolve conflicts
