The Concessions Specialist is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests during events at Madison Square Garden
What will you do?
• Performs opening side work and assists team lead/supervisor in the opening of merchandise, concessions, and bar areas prior to doors opening.
• Assists patrons in their selection of food/beverage or merchandise by making suggestions and answering any questions they may have.
• Takes food/beverage orders from patrons in their seats, accurately and quickly.
• Mixes, garnishes, and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests.
• Processes cash and charge transactions for merchandise and food/beverage selling areas as well as in seating areas.
• Sells/delivers alcoholic beverages, adhering to company liquor service guidelines.
• Notifies supervisor of products that require replenishment during an event.
• Answers questions and escalate guest issues in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
• Has a working knowledge of the venue’s policies and important locations, (i.e. restrooms, other sales locations, exits, medical, security, etc.)
• Performs closing side work and assists team lead/supervisor in the closing down of merchandise, concessions, and bar areas at the conclusion of an event.
• Handles cash bank and verifies cash totals according to company policies.
• Maintains a friendly and team-oriented demeanor towards coworkers.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
• The ideal candidate will have previous bartending experience, bartending license a plus.
• Have commitment to high quality customer service and ability to handle a high-volume environment.
• Must be friendly and outgoing and create a welcoming environment for guests and coworkers.
• Must be able to handle transactions without a register.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Must be able to handle inclement weather, due to Hall doors being open.
• Flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work at least 4.5 days/nights a week including weekends and holidays.
• Must have strong communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to complete daily and nightly inventory.
• Food & Beverage product knowledge.
• Experience using POS system and handling cash.
Special Requirements
• Able to walk and stand during the entire shift.
• Maintains NYC Board of Health standards and executes departmental procedures in place.
• Adheres to TEAM training guidelines.
• Must be flexible to rotate positions within a shift.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.

Hourly Pay Range
$10.65 — $10.65 USD
