What will you do?
• Maintain all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, bathroom fixture repair & maintenance.
• Inspect and make necessary repairs to building systems as needed, such as pumps, motors, compressors plumbing and electrical systems.
• Maintain chemical station for treatment of closed loop water systems, chilled water and condenser water systems.
• Maintain all city agency inspection records and ensure timely inspections.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance program.
• Assist in preparation of yearly operational and capital budget, including 5-year plan.
• Assist in overseeing activities of construction projects, vendors, subcontractors and city services.
• Insure adherence to all applicable codes and regulations.
• Perform the duties and have knowledge of building sprinkler, standpipe, smoke purge, and emergency generator system.
• Respond to alarms and emergency situations, with knowledge of Fire Safety planning and systems.
• Maintain sprinkler, standpipe system and the Fire System. Manage the building’s (BMS), DDC and pneumatic controls. Familiarity with the event schedule and provide support for event requirements.
• Will endeavor to remain familiar with current trends and advancements in building technology.
• Will need to analyze and prioritize projects around the event and operating schedules of the facility.
• Must be familiar with and maintain the landmark aspects of the building.
• Please note that this Engineer position is located at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
What do you need to succeed?
• Candidate must have Stationary Engineer’s License, CFC License, Universal HVAC certificate, Universal HVAC certificate, Fire Safety Director License, ACM and Lead Paint abatement certificates, Refrigeration License, Sprinkler & Standpipe Certificate of Fitness.
• Ability to braze, solder, cut & thread pipe.
• Basic locksmith experience and Chief Engineering training.
• OSHA 10 Safety Certificate required.
• Knowledge in energy efficiency required.
• Experience with DDC and Pneumatic Controls including BMS required.
• Must become FSD Certified within the first year.
• Must have a complete understanding of the mechanical systems associated with the facility.
• This position requires a flexible schedule including come nights and weekend. Will be subject to call 24 hours in case of emergency.
• Position requires extensive walking, occasional bending, stooping and climbing.
