Production Technician - Full-time (Entry Level)
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operation of the studio and its equipment during live and recorded production. As well as digital content creation and video editing using Adobe Premiere. These duties cover the operation of studio and field cameras, audio mixer, lighting console, various lighting fixtures, video monitors, floor direction, light studio maintenance, studio cleaning, and other duties as assigned. Working knowledge and proficiency with various social media platforms is also required. The ability to work under pressure and work in a cohesive team environment is a must.
Other Duties include: Operation of multiple studio configured cameras and proficient floor direction during fast paced newscasts, breaking news, and special projects. Operation of a PC based lighting console, that utilizes DMX addressing of all LED studio fixtures. Assist with microphone placement on guests, conduct microphone checks, battery swaps during broadcasts, and other trouble shooting from the studio. Studio responsibilities are the daily setup prior to each telecast, checking equipment early and reporting any issues or concerns to the Technical Operations Manager so they can be repaired or addressed. Knowledge of studio backup systems, and how to engage them in a timely manner. Depending on need and the mastery of this position, there are many opportunities to be trained in many aspects of live production, as well as field production. Must be able to work weekends and holidays, with a flexible schedule to accommodate live sports and events is required of this position. A minimum of an Associate's degree (in television broadcasting Production/Engineering) is preferred.
