DTC Associate Producer, MS NOW Content Strategy
Job Description
MS NOW is seeking an Associate Producer for our direct-to-consumer (DTC) programming strategy team. In this role, you will be integral in covering the most significant political news, help create compelling video content, and foster community engagement. This position requires strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, organizational skills, an audience-first mindset and a keen eye for timely, impactful storytelling.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Coordinating Producers, Producers, Production Assistants to develop and edit DTC exclusive content
• Collaborate with news talent on creative content for MS NOW's DTC platform
• Assist in the booking of guests
• Assist in production/operations management for remote shoots
• Pursue research for content ideas and DTC productions as directed
• Support curation of featured video content within the MS NOW DTC app
• Quality-check video, graphics, scripts, copy, to ensure accuracy and alignment with editorial standards
• Maintain MS NOW's high editorial standards and journalistic rigor in all aspects of content development and production
Qualifications
• 2 years of experience producing news / breaking news / political content for digital and/or social platforms
• Solid news judgement, strong news writing, research, and communication skills
• Solid video editing skills and experience turning around elements quickly
• Experience with Adobe Premiere, Pro Tools, YouTube Studio
• Established knowledge of VMix, Riverside
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours (weekends and/or late nights) to service needs of a 24/7 news product
• Flexibility to respond to breaking news situations outside of regular working hours
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
• Deep knowledge and passion for news and politics
• Experience in content strategy in digital, social media, streaming, livestreaming space
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
• Must be willing to work weekends.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
