This is an entry-level account assistant position that will support multiple account teams and is responsible for a broad scope of day-to-day administrative work, including clipping for media coverage of clients, creating and maintaining media lists, speaking opportunities and awards grids, research & coverage reports, covering press days & events, and pitching press, as well as supervising the work done by interns.
We are looking for team players who are social media savvy with excellent writing skills. Ours is a fast-paced environment and you must be able to juggle workload efficiently and effectively. We offer excellent benefits and an outstanding work environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be computer literate and know how to use Excel, Microsoft Word and other programs. Knowledge of Cision and Meltwater a plus. Preference to those who have a degree in public relations or affiliated area of study and those who have completed internships with PR agencies or in-house PR departments. Attention to detail, resourcefulness and organization a must! Must be able to juggle many projects, prioritize and be a self-starter.
- Familiarity with newspapers and entertainment-specific publications and websites a plus.
- Expertise with document scanning, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, Internet and Windows software.
- Familiarity with Cision and Meltwater a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written and proofreading skills.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Works well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task effectively.
- Ability to learn new technologies and software.
- Superior writing and grammar skills.
- Candidate should be assertive, pro-active and a team player.
- Exercise good judgment, flexibility, resourcefulness and strong organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong knowledge base of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, online outreach and partnership marketing).
- Bachelor's degree in public relations or related field preferred.
