Position Details:
We are searching for rigging artists to join our team here at Mousetrappe! We're looking for people who know how to make things move! The ideal candidates will understand the kinetics of motion and intuit the flexibility/needs desired by animators on down the line. Working in a collaborative environment, this position offers a chance for candidates to exhibit their creativity and technical skill. As this is a small studio environment, riggers must feel comfortable trouble-shooting their own technical problems to a degree as there is limited full-time technical support. The position is freelance/project-based and would run for about 8 weeks beginning in early July.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain a smooth and efficient rig for CG assets.
Work closely with Animation team to ensure that the productions' needs are being understood and met.
Build intuitive and fast puppets
Create and adjust rigging standards
Contribute to the team with solutions and ideals on a visual and technical level
Identify and solve potential problems to stay on schedule
Communicate clearly and efficiently all production needs, schedule complications, etc.
Requirements:
Expert level knowledge of Maya
Ability to work collaboratively with animators and team
Fast and efficient
Familiarity with full animation/CG techniques and pipeline
Good communication skills
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in character rigging, must have quadruped/bipeds in portfolio
MUST be local to LA, no relocation or remote work possible.
