Job Description
Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans is looking for a Benefits Representative for our New York office located in Tribeca. Using your outgoing personality and strong analytical skills, you will be helping to resolve member questions about their health and pension plans and explain policies and benefits to them in easy to understand terms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist members with health and retirement benefit information
- Handle high-volume member phone calls regarding benefits eligibility, claims, pension, and premium payments.
- Review and process member records, including legal documentation, account numbers, addresses, beneficiary designation, plan
selections, Coordination of Benefits records, Life Insurance, COBRA, etc.
- Meet with members to guide them through the retirement fulfillment process, answer eligibility, pension, and health benefits inquiries,
and assist in the completion of documents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of customer service phone experience in a high call volume environment.
- Retirement/Pension planning experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Proficient PC skills, including Windows, Outlook, and MS Word
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills; ability to explain and confirm understanding of complex issues.
- Pleasant and professional telephone etiquette.
- Able to handle a high volume of calls and meet required production and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy required.
- Maintain confidential information.
Accurate typing skills of 45 wpm.
Available for overtime, including weekends, as needed.
