This is a Part Time Paid Internship
The Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is offering a paid part-time, 6 week summer internship ($20/hr.) in our Residuals and Deposits Department for a current college student. MPI is a multi-employer trust fund that administers the Health and Retirement Plans for 'behind the camera' employees in the motion picture industry.
As a Residuals and Deposits Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how the Residuals function utilizes reporting functions, metrics, and analysis to service our participants.
Specifically, you will have the chance to:
• Learn about the financial compensation paid to the Plans for the distribution and exhibition of movies.
• Assist with the creation of complex residual contribution reports for processing.
• Learn about report validation and deposit allocation.
• Gain exposure to the Residual audit process.
• Work on special projects as needed.
Qualified applicants for this role will:
• Currently be working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a 3.0 GPA or better.
• Have strong analytical and quantitative abilities with excellent written and verbal communications.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving aptitude required. Able to transform complex process calculation to formula.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
• Have the ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary team as well as act autonomously as appropriate.
• Be able to handle fast-paced work and meeting deadlines.
• Be detail oriented and organized.
• Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization, employers, and participants, in an effective and cooperative manner.
