Search for Senior Payroll Specialist/ Staff Accountant jobs in Studio City-CA
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist/ Staff Accountant with subject matter expertise around payroll processing and accounting to join our Finance and Accounting team. The Senior Payroll Specialist/ Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate, efficient and timely processing of payroll for all MPI employees. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll systems administration and deep knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Manage the entire Payroll function from start to finish.
*Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades.
*Maintain accurate and updated employee information in the payroll system.
*Liaison with payroll provider, Ceridian, on all aspects of their service and support.
*Assist with timely deposits of federal & state income tax withholdings for Pension and IAP plans and 945.
*Reconciliation of year-end wage and tax statements.
*Track 401(k) deductions and makes corresponding transmissions of information.
*Oversees various insurance policy information including worker's comp, Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance benefits.
*Collaborate with Human Resources department in administering company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
*Accounting and Payroll experience of 3-4 years.
*Bachelor's degree in accounting/Finance/Business and/or equivalent experience required. CPA and/or MBA a plus.
*Familiarity with Union contracts preferred.
*Trust fund accounting & trust statement experience preferred.
*Experience with Ceridian Payroll service a plus.
*Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
*Experience with accounting software. Familiarity with FRx a plus.
*Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
*Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
*Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required.
