This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
A summer internship is immediately available for a women-in-STEM project that encompasses book publishing, museum exhibition and nonfiction television. At the core of the project are two published books about women inventors, ''Mothers of Invention'' (Wm Morrow) and ''Patently Female'' (Wiley) by co-authors Ethlie Ann Vare and Greg Ptacek.
''Mothers of Invention'' was the first book ever published about the achievements of women in science and technology and a New York Times recommended title. ''Patently Female'' was the follow-up volume. The authors are currently working on a 3rd volume. As well, the authors are developing the books into a TV documenary series and a traveling museum exhibit.
The ideal candidate has a keen interest science & technology and women studies as well as the media arts and design. The selected candidate will assist the authors in all aspects of research with a minimum commitment of 6-8 hours per week through the end of summer. Minimum graphic design skills (e.g., knowledge of Canva) are desired but not necessary.
The internship is 100% remote with no set hours, however, you will have the opportunity to meet the authors regularly in person or on a video meeting.
You will be credited for your work in all aspects of the project, and there is the opportunity to advance to a co-producer position.
