Senior Accounts Payable Assistant (Maternity Cover)
The Role
This is a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Assistant to join us as we expand. As an all-round Senior Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be critical to managing key stakeholder relationships by being the first point of contact with suppliers and business partnering with internal departments. You will contribute to the business by driving process change to ensure the systems and processes are always best in class.
Responsibilities
• Conduct daily invoice processing on NetSuite with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile monthly supplier statements to ensure accurate financial records.
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations, including the creation of journal entries.
• Monitor daily key performance indicators (KPI's) to assess AP performance.
• Prepare monthly payment runs from NetSuite to HSBC, both for UK and international transactions.
• Ensure precise and timely recording of transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular communication with suppliers.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations
• Assist in addressing audit queries during yearly audits.
• Take sole responsibility for managing the AP Inbox.
• Foster and maintain effective relationships with senior management and external suppliers.
• Staff expenses management
• Provide administrative support to the Accounts Payable Manager.
• Undertake ad hoc tasks to support the Accounts Payable Manager.
• Offer coverage for other aspects of Accounts Payable as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience
• Strong comprehension of AP processes, with 2-3 years of practical experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Possession of a relevant accounting qualification, such as AAT or a University Degree in Accounting.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and other applicable systems, demonstrating a high level of expertise.
• Fundamental understanding of general ledger (GL) coding.
• Exemplary attention to detail, exercising control, diligence, and maintaining a comprehensive perspective of financial operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables.
• Effective workload management in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling successful interaction with stakeholders across all organisational levels.
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
• Solution-oriented approach, solving problems in compliance with company policies and controls.
• Exceptional focus on detail, coupled with outstanding organisational and time management abilities.
• Experience in payment set-up.
• Proficiency in utilising Concur.
