Monumental Sports and Entertainment (MSE) Corporate Communications is looking for a Vice President, based in Washington, DC, to support strategic and corporate communications priorities. This includes crafting corporate narratives, developing spokesperson messaging, expertly handling both proactive and reactive media engagements, and coordinating multifaceted communications rollouts for various firm announcements/publications. This remit will include supporting the transparency of our stewardship efforts on behalf of our fans, owners, and external stakeholders, as well as managing communications associated with our league-leading teams.
About Corporate Communications
Reporting directly to the Chief Strategic and Corporate Communications Officer, the Vice President is a member of the Strategic and Corporate Communications Leadership team. An important responsibility of MSE's Strategic and Corporate Communications team is to advance, elevate, protect and celebrate the largest integrated sports and entertainment company in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports.
As such, this role is responsible for driving compelling corporate communications and stakeholder engagement strategies that will enhance MSE's culture, drive growth, strengthen MSE's reputation, and build our brand with external audiences and investors.
Responsibilities:
• Partner closely with senior executives, business leaders, marketing, government affairs, and other members of the Corporate Communications team to develop proactive, multi-channel communications rollouts that leverage storytelling.
• Plan and drive innovative media engagement programs that build greater understanding and recognition of our brand, businesses, and social contributions.
• Help create core narratives and accompanying storylines for media interviews, article placements, and additional opportunities on social/other platforms.
• Maintain strong relationships with media and continuously build new relationships (across print/broadcast/online) including with business/financial media, trade, and national media.
• Demonstrate a deep experience developing a full range of press materials including press releases, media statements, key messages, media Q&As, and briefing documents for our spokespeople.
• Develop excellent rapport with colleagues within different businesses, as well as with other functions such as marketing, legal, and compliance.
• Comfortably handle regular media enquiries in a professional, timely, and efficient manner.
• Support internal communications as needed, including with select executive communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 10-15 years' experience in corporate communications within publicly traded companies, retail or media/entertainment industry, and/or agency.
• Demonstrated understanding of the financial and corporate communications and capital markets.
• Experience engaging with senior executives; navigating complex, global organizations; and fostering collaborative decision-making among senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional media relations capabilities and the ability to translate complex topics to simple, compelling narratives and serve as a spokesperson.
• Track record of developing strategic, impactful communications plans across earned, owned, and paid that align with business priorities.
• Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability in working across different regions and times zones to drive global communications strategies and activations.
• Strong project and team management skills and attention to detail.
Pay Range: $225 - 275k USD.
