Internship: Esports Marketing & Content (Summer 2024)
In September 2022, MSE acquired the regional sports network, then-called NBC Sports Washington and newly rebranded as Monumental Sports Network. Monumental Sports Network now holds the exclusive local television media rights to Capitals', Wizards', and Mystics' games. The network is both a linear channel and a digital operation. Prior to acquiring the linear platform, the digital platform was launched by MSE in 2016, as the first-of-its-kind regional sports network for digital, mobile, and streaming platforms. Those linear and digital platforms are now combined and join Caps Radio, Wizards Radio, MSE Outdoor and Monumental Productions for a full suite of six media enterprises.
In addition to Capital One Arena – a venue which hosts 3M visitors across over 250 events annually, MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex (training facility for the Capitals), MedStar Health Performance Center (training facility for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go) and EagleBank Arena (a 12,000 live event venue on George Mason University's campus).
In July 2020, MSE partnered with William Hill (subsequently acquired by Caesars Entertainment) to open the first ever in-arena sportsbook in North America, now called Caesars Sportsbook. The space now also boasts a destination culinary experience, Guy Fieri's DC Kitchen Bar.
MSE opened ''District E powered by Ticketmaster'' in the spring of 2023, a flagship esports and entertainment venue. This 14,000-square-foot live-event theater offers a 365-day-a-year series of immersive experiences in esports, music, culinary excellence, event programming, and community events.

Position Overview: The Esports Marketing & Content Intern is responsible for promoting the Wizards District Gaming and District E brands through a variety of projects and special events. This is a paid internship.

Responsibilities:
• Support projects and tasks assigned by the Vice President of Esports and Senior Manager of Marketing.
• Assist with oversight of Wizards District Gaming social accounts and analytics.
• Contribute to copywriting of various marketing communications including newsletters, website articles, and social posts.
• Work with team members to plan, ideate, create, and publish video content to Wizards District Gaming social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
• Collaborate on video shoots and content creation for esports tournaments at District E.
• Oversee grassroots marketing efforts for Wizards District Gaming events at District E.
• Provide assistance with marketing activations and live coverage on social media on game days.
• Aid in execution of partnership obligations for various marketing channels.
• Aid with supporting on-site Partnership activations at Wizards District Gaming live games at District E.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate or graduate student.
• Dedicated, outgoing, hard-working, punctual, and a phenomenal teammate.
• Previous Marketing experience a plus, but not required.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; creative.
• Ability to multi-task; detail driven; fast learner.
• Previous professional knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Knowledge of emerging platforms is a plus.
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, and other Office software.
• Experience with Adobe creative tools preferred, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Ability to recognize and react to real-time, emerging trends and current events and edit social-first video content for distribution across social channels.
• Experience in capturing platform-specific photo & video content, using both cell phone & DSLR camera.
• General knowledge of esports and competitive gaming, along with traditional sports.
• Reliable transportation and housing.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid Drivers License required.
