Manager, Ice Operations

Position Overview: The Manager, Ice Operations is responsible for maintaining a best-in-class NHL ice sheet and for helping maintain all related ancillary ice equipment. This position will also support overall general maintenance and operational support of the facility for other special events.

Responsibilities:

• Drive Zamboni or Olympia using industry standard process techniques.
• Help lead the installation, maintenance, and removal of a tier one NHL quality ice sheet.
• Maintenance of ice surface including use of edger and ice temperature monitoring.
• Responsible for maintenance of dashers, player benches, hockey glass, goals, and netting.
• Maintain all ice and equipment related logs and collaborate with engineers as required.
• Ensure electric units are charged and/or propane tanks are fully stocked/stored properly.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness of ice and verify accuracy of Capitals game day set.
• Help recruit, manage, develop, and train new drivers, Caps Ice Crew, and game day staff.
• Establish and maintain communication channels with Capitals staff and players.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have valid Driver's License.
• Prior ice rink experience is required.
• FOMA's (PMI) or US Ice Rink Association's (CIT) courses considered a plus.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights if needed. Shift assignment and lengths vary per needs of the business.

Pay Range: $80-95k USD.
