Position Overview: The Director, Digital Marketing is responsible for leading digital marketing strategy, including web destinations, social media, and paid digital media, for the WNBA Washington Mystics and NBA G League Capital City Go-Go.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of overall digital communications strategic plans for the Teams.
• Define both our content and sales strategy within our digital ecosystem.
• Build and lead digital marketing campaigns aimed at driving increased brand awareness with the general population, drive ticket sales and game attendance by crafting exciting fan engagement plans.
• Design and execute a robust digital influencer initiative to help support the business objectives.
• Coordinate with email marketing team to help manage content for regularly scheduled sends (pre-game emails, post-game emails, ticket sales outreach emails) and help drive integration with digital marketing strategy and campaign tactics.
• Drive strategic improvements into consistent application across all touchpoints.
• Ensure all communications are branded consistently and in-line with Team design direction.
• Partner with Business Analytics team to develop and measure the effectiveness of digital and social marketing programs to find opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with the League and other external partners to lead and optimize joint initiatives.
• Maintain relationship with our internal agency, Creative Services, and internal designers to ensure that creative communications used in digital are in line with the overall Team Marketing.
• Drive new digital and social media communications innovations into testing and execution.
• Lead, develop and grow an engaged, high performing team.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide mentorship feedback and training as needed. Define individual objectives and development plans that align with business goals.
• Lead hiring efforts including to identify, recruit and attract the best talent.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Digital marketing certifications and/or qualifications is helpful.
• 5 years digital marketing experience; sport digital experience a plus.
• Experience working in web, social, search engine, display and email marketing.
• Outstanding work ethic, eagerness to learn, integrity and a passion for Teams.
• Results-oriented, competitive and dedicated to success.
• Experience and in depth understanding of paid, owned and earned digital media.
• Ability to carry out all digital functions.
• Great project management, organizational, and analytical skills
• Experience handling a budget and leading a team.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed; maintain a flexible work schedule with extended hours.
