Music Studio Assistant

Momentum is seeking a full-time Studio Assistant to add to our team! Applicants need to be very efficient in Logic 9/ Logic X, Pro Tools 11, and Sibelius 7. Please only apply if you know these programs very well. Applicants must live in LA. Studio Assistant will work directly under the supervision of production/studio manager, Mary Webster, for composer William Ross. This is not an entry level position. Job description is listed below!

JOB DESCRIPTION
Studio Assistant

Definition: Working under the supervision of the Studio Manager, the full time Studio Assistant helps with all studio matters necessary to guarantee Composers and staff a trouble-free working environment. Film Scoring, Music Production, or Music Engineering background strongly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Place and pick up food and drinks orders if intern is unable.
Run various errands, including, but not limited to, post-office or delivery runs, picking up gear, getting studio or kitchen supplies, getting cars washed if intern is unable.
Keep offices and kitchen fully stocked, neat and orderly.
Set up and monitor eBay sales of used studio equipment.
Support staff in assigned project-based work.
Prepare Logic and Sibelius files for Composers to work on.
Create or enhance mock-ups.
Input Sibelius scores and coordinate with copyist before recording sessions.
Prepare scores, leadsheets and parts for in-house use.
Prepare material (stems, laybacks, pre-records, midi files, Pro Tools sessions, etc.) before recording sessions and/or mix.
Assist during in-house recording sessions, including, but not limited to, setting up recording environment (mic, cabling, etc.).
When required, attend off-site recording sessions to assist Composers.
Maintain studio equipment and workstations to guarantee high uptime.
Update and maintain sample library; replicate and test on all computers.
Coordinate with Composers and assist Studio Manager in troubleshooting technical problems as they arise.
Assist with file transfers (uploads and downloads) to/from various clients.
Assist in running meetings and sessions with clients (directors, producers...) and contractors (mixers, editors...).
Assist with overall maintenance of the company and its offices.
Arrange for the repair and maintenance of studio equipment.
Update and maintain music and score library, using labeling and database software as directed.
Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and agency information.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Excellent general technical knowledge.
Experience with Logic Pro (9 and X).
Experiences with of Pro Tools 10/11 and Sibelius 7.
Knowledge of audio and midi signal flow.
Experience with soft-synths and audio plug-ins.
Basic understanding of recording, mic setup, and signal flow.
Knowledge of Mac OS X, including admin and diagnostic utilities, as well as maintenance and troubleshooting tricks.
Some experience in general office responsibilities and procedures.
Excellent ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively, both on the phone and face-to-face.
Ability to be pro-active and show initiative.
Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
