Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization in its 36th year of promoting the game of baseball, raising money for local charities and serving the unique needs of former players.
The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is seeking an organized, self-motivated, team-oriented individual to assist all facets of the company, including but not limited to the following: day-to-day operations, communications/public relations, event management, fundraising, membership development, budgeting, and memorabilia sales/marketing. This internship will provide a well-rounded experience for students interested in non-profit organizations, sports management and administration. Interns may receive college credit; this is an unpaid position. A small stipend will be provided.

Responsibilities
• Assist with the planning and execution of the league-wide awards program – Heart and Hustle Award; including but not limited to coordination with MLB team representatives, current and former players, scheduling, communicating logistics and follow-up duties.
• Utilize organizational abilities to manage event details and RSVP's for Legends for Youth clinic series and Alumni Day series.
• Assist Special Events department with all event logistics; including but not limited to creating invites, making calls, confirming attendees and venue applications.
• Plan and execute a local Legends for Youth clinic from inception to completion.
• Support Membership and Development department; including but not limited to research and execution of new member benefits, recruitment of new and lapsed members, distribution of collateral through stewardship program, and organization and execution of MLBPAA's licensing agreement process.
• Contribute to Intern Insider blog on a weekly basis, and assist the Communications department with national campaigns and social media monitoring, content creation for internal and external newsletters, and public relations reporting and analytics.
Breakdown of Duties
• 30% - Customer service by email and phone to former MLB players and other constituents
• 20% - Support for Events department
• 20% - Recruitment and Fundraising efforts
• 20% - Support for Communications department
• 10% - Other duties as assigned
