Search for Revenue Analyst jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Summary
The Revenue Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Accounting operations related to film licensing and royalties. The Revenue Analyst will review customer agreements and accounts to understand invoicing, collections and revenue requirements. The Analyst will ensure that invoices are issued and payments are collected in a timely manner and ensure revenue is properly recorded in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities
Manage the flow of incoming royalty statements from licensees and 3rd party distributors
Engage in the review and interpretation of royalty agreements
Work with licensees and/or distributors to ensure that royalty statements are being reported in accordance with contractual terms
Collaborate with C&C to ensure the timeliness of payments and submissions of statements
Audit and review all royalty statements for proper accounting treatment
Support International Distributor audits by providing agreements and statements to external audit teams, monitoring status of ongoing audits, identifying audit issues and assist in their resolution
Prepare/Review revenue adjustments, journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data
Work with IT to identify and implement a new royalty system solution
Prepare support for monthly close packages and internal/external quarterly audits relating to the royalty business
Perform Cash and GAAP revenue reporting and By-Title and By-Market Reporting
Prepare quarterly roll forwards of Deferred Revenue and Accrued A/R
Provide variance analysis of actuals to budget and actuals to prior period
Special assignments and analysis as required
Requirements
3+ years of Accounting experience in the entertainment industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; MBA and/or CPA preferred
Good understanding of revenue accounting, royalties reporting
SAP knowledge and experience is preferred
Intermediate to advance Excel skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive, independent approach to work, high attention to detail, strong initiative and enthusiasm
Must be a team player that thrives in a fast paced environment
Familiarity with film revenue recognition requirements per FASB ASC 926 preferred
