Job Title: Photography Assistant

Position Summary/Objective: The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx are seeking an experienced and creative photography assistant for the 2018-2019 season. In this role, you will assist the team photographer(s) in taking photographs of games, staff and external events. You will also assist the office staff in sorting, editing and archiving imagery. This position is scheduled to start in October 2018 and continue through October 2019.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions:
1. Assist the team photographer in photographing non-game action elements of games and team events – whether as a team or individually.
2. Sort through all game day and event imagery with a critical eye to discard unnecessary photos.
3. Edit photos to enhance quality when needed.
4. Upload and archive all images within 24 hours of an event.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
2. Knowledge in Photo Mechanic software is strongly preferred.
3. Ability to work nights, weekends and potentially holidays.
4. Strong team leadership skills preferred.
5. Must have reliable transportation
6. Must own or have access to DSLR camera
7. Knowledge of digital photography, lighting, composition and color quality
Education:
Minimum of high school diploma with proven work and photography experience, Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Exceptional computer skills including experience with photo editing (Photoshop) and archiving software.
Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This job operates during Timberwolves and Lynx home games as well as related events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The position operates out of an administrative office and sports arena. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by dust, etc. The noise level is loud during events. During events, work is generally performed on the main court, around the concourse and bleachers/steps, as well as in an office environment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Travel
This position will require some travel to external events
