Mills Entertainment is looking for a Stage Manager/Lighting Director for an upcoming Fall Tour.
Dates: September 11, 2023 - November 16, 2023 (Additional pre-production week may be added, Dates subject to change slightly)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Pre production work as needed
- Manage the technical rehearsal process and participate in technical advances, as necessary
- Supervise and direct local crew, ensuring a safe work environment and that integrity of the show is always being upheld to standard.
- Run focus and light check
- Call all show tracks and cues and execute lighting cues from the console
- Ensure that all equipment and show supplies are ready for movement post-show.
- Participate in load-in, load-out, and packing of the truck.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and make repairs on the road, as needed
- Maintaining show documentation through run of the tour
- Take and implement creative and technical notes, upholding the artistic integrity of the production.
- Participate in production meetings and general tour check-ins while on the road.
- Ensure that the team adheres to all safety procedures.
- Assist other departments when necessary or available.
- Lead a smooth, successful, and enjoyable workplace.
Required Skills + Qualifications
- Touring experience (3-5 years preferred)
- Experience calling a focus and loading in/loading out tour electrics
- Experience calling a show and stage managing a tour
- Able to problem solve quickly with strong organizational and adaptability skills
- Prior experience working with and supervising a local crew under IATSE union regulations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Driver's License required
- Background check required
Preferred Skills:
- Higher consideration will be given to candidates with related touring experience of 5 or more years and to candidates who have previously toured with a theatrical show
- Higher consideration will be given to candidates with a background in magic
