Mills Entertainment is seeking an experienced Audio/Video Technician for a Fall 2023 tour with the potential for additional work on future dates and tours.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in pre-production, production, and advance calls as necessary
• Participate in load-in, load-out, and packing of the truck.
• Direct and supervise local audio and video crew during load-in and load-out
• Set up and break down tour's projection equipment and video setup
• Supervise and direct local crew, ensuring a safe work environment and that integrity of the show is always being upheld to standard.
• Work with local A1 to ensure house system is properly tuned prior to artist arrival
• Execute video cues for each performance
• Ensure that all equipment and show supplies are ready for movement post-show.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and make repairs on the road, as needed
• Maintain show documentation through run of the tour, including editing and updating show QLab files as needed
• Participate in production meetings and general tour check-ins while on the road.
• Ensure that the team adheres to all safety procedures.
• Assist other departments when necessary or available.
• Lead a smooth, successful, and enjoyable workplace.
Required Qualifications:
• Must be experienced with video projection, including focusing and troubleshooting tour video system
• Must be proficient with MacBook Pro laptops and QLab programming and troubleshooting
• Prior touring experience required ( at least 2 years, preferably)
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to solve problems if they arise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an outgoing, positive dynamic personality to engage partners and team members
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Able to work varied hours and commit 100% of time for regional travel and work on the road for the entire tour
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
• Higher consideration will be given to candidates who have worked with celebrity or high-profile talent in the past
• MIDI experience is a plus
• Experience working with Barco and Christie projectors preferred
Additional Information: This is a touring position that requires travel. Accommodations, travel and per-diem are provided.
