Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a dynamic Account Manager/Senior Account Manager. The Account Manager/Senior Account Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple workstreams, working with a passionate team and executing campaign strategies for clients, building relationships with media partners, managing client budgets, and creating and editing media materials. The role is located in New York City for a hybrid work environment to be in the office. Los Angeles is also optional. Must have balance and capacity to be able to work different time zones with clients overseas in Europe and Asia. As with all employees of MPR, an Account Manager/Senior Account Manager must follow the company policies described in the Company Handbook, attend all necessary internal meetings, and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while working to instill a positive work environment at the agency.
Required Skills
• 5-7 years of post-grad public relations/communications/marketing communications/global PR experience
• PR agency experience is a must
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with utmost care and attention
• Ability to manage a team from different time zones and countries
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with media partners, clients, and colleagues
• Ability to know when to pivot seamlessly in a campaign to carefully place the client in positive press
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of social media and influencer marketing campaigns such as how to ideate, implement and follow through with results then create a recap report for the client
• Proficiency in agency softwares such as Microsoft Office software, Cision, PR Newswire, Notion, Muck Rack, etc.
• Exceptional planning skills with large-scale special events, music festivals and red carpets, etc.
• Flexible availability to work evenings and weekends with clients at events such as red carpets, galas, music festivals, etc.
• Detail-oriented communicator with an energetic presence and entrepreneurial spirit
• Outside the box thinker, able to use strategy and critical analysis in what works and what does not
• Utilize the understanding of key client information including business strategy, industry issues, products and services and competitors
• Contribute to creation of domestic and global communications plans that meet client objectives
• Provide client service administration, including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage, conducting media value in reports and on stats calls, coordinating press tour pitching, scheduling and logistics
• Supervise junior staff and interns by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback
• Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread materials, including media lists, media strategies, press materials, scripts, pitches, fact sheets, and more
• Lead monitoring, measurement, and reporting function in status client calls with the utmost confidence
• Has their finger on the pulse with social trends and cultural happenings and identifies opportunities for clients to take part of that puts them in positive press coverage
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and ability to support team in prioritization of deliverables
• Help with drafts of ROI analysis and quarterly reports
• Execute additional tasks assigned by your direct report or a senior team member, as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field
Preferred Skills
• Experienced networker who has existing network of media, influencer and industry contacts
• Comfortable managing between 5 -10 client accounts with junior support and senior guidance
• Ability to create campaign plans and strategies for agency clients with support and direction from agency founder and director
• Must have reliable transportation and wi-fi at home office when working from home.
• If you are a person who is able to read, write and speak fluently in Mandarin or Korean, then we want to speak with you.
• Able to working across a variety of clients handling everything from publicity to corporate communications and remove the rest of it
• Must have current knowledge and passion of global music genres such as Latin, Dance/EDM, Indie and Asian Pop (J-Pop, K-pop, etc.)
• Expansive experience working with high-profile public figures / A-List celebrities as well as up-and-coming talent plus knowing the different strategies for those clients
• Highly experienced when it comes to executing corporate communications, lifestyle, technology, brands and special events PR strategies to secure top press stories for clients in different sectors
• Proven ability to manage multiple small or medium-sized projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills
• Able to identify a problem and come up with solutions on the spot to quickly resolve
• Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
• Ability to perform well under pressure and be a team player
• Fundamental understanding of media relations and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and non-traditional/online media strategies
• Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
• Stellar account management skills with little supervision
• Affinity for storytelling and an ability to generate creative ideas, take risks, and think big
