Position Summary:
The Security Manager is responsible for supervising all shifts of the 24/7 security staff and monitoring the operation of the 24/7 command center. In addition, the individual is responsible for supervising all technical and computer related security systems with the Miami Marlins Security Department. This includes the protection of all ballpark infrastructure, assets, and supervision of all shift security officer personnel. As directed by the Director of Security, the Security Manager will coordinate training, establish work schedules, time and attendance reports, and patrol procedures. Additionally, the Security Manager will assist with the review of all incidents and documentation of such incidents, and general liability and security operations directly associated with protecting the facility, its patrons and interest of the organization on game day.
Essential Functions:
• Develops their personal leadership and holds fast and true to the following Leadership Competencies: Integrity, Self-Discipline, Communication, Trustworthiness, Teamwork, Conflict Management, Problem-Solving and Judgment, Initiative;
• Responsible for Security Department Project Management, which includes updating Emergency Action Plans, Post Orders, and Best Stadium Operating Procedures (BSOP) required taskings from Major League Baseball. Includes having to write and update all Post Orders, to work with other managers to successfully meet deadlines;
• Develop, organize, and facilitate Incident Response Tabletop exercises with both technical and non-technical audiences in order to understand and assess Incident Response capabilities within the organization along with federal, state, and local responders;
• Manage and maintain all security related investigations and lead or direct other security personnel involving the collection of information pertinent to the successful completion of the investigation;
• Responsible for the system support and operation of the 24/7 command center, which includes 24/7 Software, FEDCHECK, Avigilon, Access Control, Video Systems, and proximity card programs;
• Deploying, monitoring and supervising security resources, including security officers, in a manner that provides the best possible proactive and reactive measures to prevent or minimize property loss, property damage, personal injury, or situations having a negative impact on the organization;
• Conducts proper investigations and inquiries into all incidents, accidents, security issues, and situations adversely impacting the facility or organization's interest to include but not limited to damages, losses, safety matters, or injury during an employee's work shift. Provides detailed reports to Miami Marlins Management, Director of Security, and/or Risk/Legal;
• Ensures an understanding and compliance of policies and procedures by subordinate personnel in support of the proper execution of their assigned duties;
• Develop and plan on-going, in-service training for all security personnel. Ensures attendance and compliance with certifications and required training of staff;
• Accountable to maintain all files, logs and reports for the required period of time in a manner to recall any required/requested information quickly and accurately;
• Able to navigate all electronic security systems to include but not limited to cameras, access control, fire alarm control panel, intrusion detection, incident management software, and other systems implemented by the Security Department;
• Assumes additional duties as needed and also in the absence of the Director of Security.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Intermediate to high level of computer skills;
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology or a related field;
• Ability to conduct preliminary investigations and prepare complete reports;
• Maintain self-control and execute all duties, responsibilities, policies and procedures in a fair and professional manner;
• Fluently bilingual English /Spanish preferred;
• Excess walking of up to four (4) hours per day;
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Candidate should have a background in corporate security, loss prevention or law enforcement and operating within a diverse workforce at major public venues;
• Experience with budget management and supervision of people is critical;
• A minimum of five years of experience in Security/Law Enforcement/Military or a related field is required, with additional experience in supervision.
