This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Position Summary:
Support the Amateur Scouting Department, Baseball Operations, and Amateur Scouts by working closely with the Amateur Scouting Manager in creating & maintaining department systems & processes throughout the season. Responsibilities include but are not limited to those outlined below.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in all facets of Rule IV Draft Operations.
• Aid in ad hoc projects including but not limited to: Rule IV Draft, scheduling, amateur events, and draft research.
• Support the maintenance and development of internal data systems.
• Assist by providing insightful thoughts to improve department systems, initiatives, & processes.
• Maintains consistent and open communication with all department personnel.
• At the discretion of & assignment by the Amateur Scouting Director or Amateur Scouting Manager, have the ability to attend amateur events and games
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Understanding of the role of Amateur Scouts and the scouting evaluation process.
• Ability to communicate effectively with scouts and other baseball operations personnel.
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout January – November 2022.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Familiarity with and interest in Amateur Scouting.
• Completed undergraduate degree or professional baseball experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Introductory exposure to Trackman/Bats, SQL Server, Tableau, and/or R
