Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Social Media will oversee and execute all strategies, content and campaigns delivered via social media platforms; will also assist Miami Marlins social team to develop The position will proactively identify strategies, ideas, approaches and signature initiatives that will drive engagement, positive fan sentiment and revenue for the Marlins brand utilizing all social media platforms.
Essential Functions:
• Devise, create and develop strategies, ideas, approaches, signature initiatives and events that will inspire engagement, word-of-mouth, build a feeling of community among fans
• Develop content across a variety of platforms, including, but not limited to social media (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and new mediums)
• Generate programs and create content while establishing consistent communication practices across all social media platforms
• Develop methods for interaction, storytelling, ''surprise and delight'' and the building of a feeling of community among all Marlins fans around the world
• Coordinate across internal departments to ensure all online organizational goals and programs are executed and delivered with proper messaging
• Identity local social media and digital influencers. Strategize efforts to build rapport, strengthen existing relationships and collaborate on new initiatives
• Assist with management of the MLB Advanced Media relationship
• Monitor and track discussion topics related to the Marlins, Major League Baseball, all professional sports and brands locally across all social media platforms
• Prepare weekly and monthly social media status reports for internal review.
Qualifications
& Requirements:
• Collaborative team player able to work with a variety of departments and different personalities
• Exceptional writing and grammatical skills, as well as expert knowledge of baseball, online culture and jargon
• Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under aggressive deadlines
• Proficiency with interactive technology [Adobe Photoshop]
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
• Photography experience a plus
• Excellent online search skills with ability to track and monitor postings relevant to the brand
• Expert knowledge of social media platforms
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Media Management, Digital Marketing, Communications or related field
• A minimum of (2) years professional work experience (sports/entertainment/new media)
• A minimum of (1) year professional work experience handling social media and digital properties for a major brand or sports organization
