Position Summary:
The Broadcasting position will execute the Broadcasting Department day-to-day administrative responsibilities in addition to hosting the Miami Marlins pregame shows on the radio, while creating original content along the Marlins Radio Network and Marlins.com.
Essential Functions:
• Management of Skyview Networks and Miami Marlins radio affiliates on the Miami Marlins radio network; managing affiliates relationships and growing network.
• Programming in-game guests and topics for English and Spanish radio.
• Management of commercial, feature, and live read inventory.
• Hosting the Miami Marlins pregame and postgame show on the radio.
• Engineering all Marlins games on radio (spring, regular season and postseason).
• Responsible for managing and growing Marlins Radio social media presence.
• Ideating, writing and creating broadcast content for the Marlins Radio Network in addition to Marlins.com.
• Scheduling and creating a calendar of events for future content including podcasts on Marlins.com.
• Conducting interviews and obtaining audio from Marlins players and coaches for use pregame, in-game, and postgame in addition to Marlins.com.
• Assisting Marlins radio and television broadcasters with requests during the regular season (includes batting practice passes and booth visits).
• Work with Partnerships Department on implementing partner presence and programming on English and Spanish radio.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills are required.
• Audio editing background is required.
• Ability to work during games, weekends, and occasional holidays.
• Experience on-air in radio or TV.
• Capable of traveling throughout the season.
• Bilingual Preferred (English & Spanish)
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Experience in a television, radio or sports organization is preferred.
