Summer Intern - Data Science

This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship

Description:

The Miami Heat are seeking a Data Science Intern to join the Business Intelligence & Strategy team and assist the organization in making data-driven decisions. Responsibilities will include brainstorming topics for research, consolidating the data necessary to set up experiments, performing statistical analysis, and visualizing results.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience in machine learning, working with large datasets, and developing novel research ideas
• Currently pursuing a degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or another quantitative technical field.
• Comfort with Python, R, or a similar statistical computing framework
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and an ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience writing SQL and working with databases
• Experience visualizing and communicating results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Interesting projects available on a personal site or GitHub profile
