METRO PUBLIC RELATIONS l FALL 2018 PAID/CREDITED INTERNSHIPS
We are looking for a number of outstanding candidates for our Fall 2018 Intern Class.
REQUIREMENTS
• Can commit to at least three days per week
• Act professionally
• Fall season (duration flexible)
OUR INTERNS ARE:
• Extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate team member needs
• Regular consumers of press and entertainment industry, with knowledge of top media outlets and the type of stories appropriate for each medium
• Ambitious self-starters who aren't afraid to share out-of-the-box ideas and present them in a professional way
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Research and organizational skills, with ability to translate findings concisely into writing
• Currently studying PR, Marketing, Communications or Journalism with intent to pursue a career in the field after graduation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Drive, Cision, Adobe Creative Suite and DropBox preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research - Discovering and presenting press opportunities
• Tracking Coverage - Obtaining press clippings, presenting coverage in client-friendly format, reading through daily/weekly industry magazines
• Phones - Making calls to find contacts, confirm and update itineraries
• Social Media - Help update our company's social media channels
• Brainstorming - Ideation of creative ideas or news angles to promote clients and company
• Internship Project - Based on your interests and skill set, we will create a longer-term project for you to complete throughout your internship to add to your PR portfolio as a takeaway
PERKS
• Experience working with top entertainment publicists in an intimate working environment
• Ability to learn a breadth of knowledge in PR, from working with lifestyle influencers to digital creators, as well as top studios
• May have the opportunity to attend photo shoots, red carpets, parties and other client events
• Occasional company outings
