This is a Full Time Job
MGM is seeking a Production Manager to act as the Creative Services point person for promotional and marketing materials for the programming slate (originals, movies, brand assets) for the MGM domestic and international services. The Production Manager will act as a conduit to other departments before, during and after creative content creation as well as liaise with the creative team and agencies to ensure all materials are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. This role will also manage the workflow and deliverables for the Creative Services static design team. The candidate must have prior experience working on original scripted & unscripted series, have a strong understanding of production management software, and have experience working on localized promotional assets.
The ideal Production Manager will be able to think critically while maintaining attention to detail. The individual in this position must be a very clear and concise communicator, both written and verbally.
Key job responsibilities
• Identify, refine and institute best practices to align MGM domestic and international promotional workflows
• Manage MGM international marketing initiatives and requests, including the production of static and A/V assets as part of global campaign launches.
• Collaborate with internal & external producers to manage the overall timeline and roll out for A/V promotional assets for MGM original scripted and unscripted series including full campaigns (teases, launch promos, BTS pieces, episodic promos, etc) and one-offs (movie spots, image spots, stunts, etc)
• Lead the customization and deployment of Production Management software across the Creative Services team & key project requestors
A day in the life
A day would most likely start with an e-mail (or a few!) from the MGM international marketing team in London, following up on yesterday's deliveries with any outstanding questions, kick-backs or new requests. After reviewing these, the role would then liaise with the creative team (editors, designers, creative directors) to direct next steps and report back to the London team on timeline, as well as negotiate what other design deadlines might need to be shifted in order to prioritize the workload.
Next up, a weekly call with Wrike to continue to build out the customization of the network's Production Management software. On the call will be the Production Manager, as well as the Sr Prod Coordinator for design, working collaboratively with Wrike to build out a system that works best for our MGM workflows. On the days where there is no Wrike call, time might be spent with the Sr Prod Coor reviewing & testing how the build out is going, assigning new forms that need to be built, meeting with the design team to discuss components of how it will work for them, etc.
Throughout the day, this role would also spend some time building or updating a deliverables grid for an original series campaign, presenting it to the Creative Director and producers/ agencies or engaging with the social, digital, marketing teams to ensure their needs are captured on the grid.
About the team
Production Management is the hub for all information and assets, seeking and distributing these materials to the rest of the MGM organization. We strive to create plans that meet all teams' needs (publicity, marketing, programming, social, legal), to communicate clearly no matter the status, to proactively identify any challenges and to provide solutions to mitigate disruptions and risk. While it is our goal to ensure materials deliver on time, even more important is to be able to communicate when things don't go as planned and to find solutions to get back on track.
We build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, earning their trust to ensure they provide us with the most precious content and information, knowing that we will use it appropriately and share as needed.
