Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking an experienced residuals professional to manage the day-to-day operations of its residuals department. The position will be responsible for the supervision of a seven-person team and will report directly to the Executive Vice President, Financial Affairs.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Modeling (e.g., creation and update of pre-release models and post-release ultimates)
• Claims Management (e.g., research of guild claims, creation of claims analyses, negotiation with guild representatives)
• New Title Reporting (e.g., collection of relevant documents and information from production accounting and business affairs; integration of new titles into MGM's residuals systems)
• Library Management
• Payment Processing (e.g., maintaining MGM's residuals systems, managing the quarterly and ad hoc payment processes, overseeing MGM's outside payroll provider and third-party residuals servicing entities, managing the upload of residuals payment data into MGM's general ledger)
• Staff mentoring and development
• Data analytics with respect to the residuals function, including calculation of all accrual rates related to residuals
• Participation in the testing of a new residuals system currently under development
Requirements:
• 10 years' of experience in a Residuals department
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, AFM, IATSE, UBCP, ACTRA and Equity (U.K.) residuals rules, related pension, and health calculations applicable to titles made during the past decade for the theatrical, network, syndication, basic cable, pay, SVOD, and new media markets
• Extensive hands-on experience working with internal or outside payroll companies with day-to-day supervision of at last three direct reports
• Superb project management skills
• Expertise with a variety of information systems
• Exceptional Excel skills, including comfort with higher excel functionality (e.g., lookups, if, sumif formulas, nested formulas)
• Ability to independently create an Excel model for residuals calculations required for new made-for-theatrical, television, or SVOD titles
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills
