Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Senior Vice President of Programming and Scheduling to provide oversight and strategic management of the MGM Channels group.
Responsibilities:
• Plan programming strategy for linear channels MGM-HD, THIS TV, and LIGHT-TV to target titles that fulfill the brand promise for each channel
• Window titles to maximize efficiency of title usage, advertising revenue and sub fees
• Monetize deep library as well as create programming events utilizing high profile titles efficiently to maintain profile of the channels
• Liaise with sales to secure MGM title usage for MGM Channels group
• Support renewal discussions for channels by providing forward facing content strategy
• Acquire third party product to support MGM-HD, THIS-TV, and LIGHT-TV programming initiatives including Retrospective stunts and hosted LIGHT-TV titles
• Liaise with Creative Services and Marketing to provide promotable schedules and stunts
• Work with Contract Sales team to alleviate any collisions between titles submitted and sales clients
• Oversee financial reporting for product usage and third party acquisition budgets
• Work with Operations to implement any new scheduling technologies
• Oversee creation and posting of FCC required documents
• Oversee maintenance of databases
• Manage reporting procedures regarding usage to contract services, finance to ensure rights are being managed accurately, and create an audit trail
• Provide programmers with direction regarding content strategy for each MGM channel for each calendar year
• Approve all MGM channels monthly calendars
• Work with programmers to provide promotable schedules and plan stunts
• Oversee shelling procedures for each programmer as they submit titles to the Contract Sales team and resolve any collisions
• Report and track financials for the accounting group for all channels
• Liaise with residual department to determine financial impact of product usage
Requirements:
• Experience with programming rights and rights management from the client perspective and in-house perspective
• Rights management and expanded rights knowledge to include rights beyond traditional TV/Basic rights and working with sales
• Increased knowledge of STARS, shelling, and collision procedures
• Strong background in negotiating and acquiring third party content
• Experience managing programming teams
• Knowledge of guild contractual commitments and residual financial impact
• Ability to create and manage processes and software implementation
