EPIX, an MGM Company, is seeking a Senior Research Analyst who will be responsible for leveraging all available data and derive insights related to viewing behavior. Reporting on this behavior includes maintaining the Original Programming, Theatrical and Operator reporting for EPIX's and ScreenPix's non-linear performance across reporting partners -- MVPDs, vMVPDs, OTT partners and EPIX's Owned and Operated platforms. In addition, this role will be responsible to maintain EPIX's content library through Nielsen (NCL). The Senior Research Analyst will serve as an integral member of a small team where collaboration is key. This position will report to the Director of Research and work with a variety of teams across EPIX, including data strategy, programming, marketing and business development.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manipulate, analyze and report viewership data across all platforms (Linear, On Demand and Digital) using data from various proprietary and syndicated sources (including Nielsen, Rentrak OnDemand Essentials, SNL Kagan, Mediamorph, Tableau, IBMS, Meta, etc)
• Maintain and update all current and future series trackage for Linear, VOD and Digital for historical analysis (premieres, finales, season averages, cumulative audience)
• Maintain content library through Nielsen (NCL) for weekly schedule updates to EPIX1 and EPIX2. Run weekly IBMS reports and note any changes to schedule prior to linear broadcast to maintain accurate program reporting in Nielsen N-Power. Keep manager and peers properly informed of relevant changes as necessary
• Report and provide insight on the performance of Comcast ScreenPix VOD weekly for network operations, scheduling and senior management
• Provide studio performance for theatricals across non-linear platforms
• Maintain the historical VOD data with Mediamorph (send 90-day lock files) and maintain current tracking for white label deals
• Provide research and ad hoc information request support for various EPIX departments (including programming, marketing and business development) as well as senior management
• Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in non-linear viewing via online reports and trade publications to gather insights that enhance the understanding of consumers, markets and competition
• Ensure that competitive information for premium VOD and online offerings remains current and that all EPIX constituencies are kept up-to-date
• Prepare charts and graphs for reports and presentations about specific series, theatricals or operator
• Maintain relationships with internal EPIX departments and external research vendors (comScore, mediamorph)
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 2-3 years relevant work history (Research, Analytics or similar type role) -- Media/entertainment or subscription related experience preferred but not required
• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to think creatively and tell meaningful actionable stories with data
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, etc.) -- SQL a plus
• Experience using and reporting out of both Nielsen (NPOWR, NCL) and ComScore preferred
• Tableau/Looker experience preferred but not required
• Must be detailed-oriented and focused on data accuracy -- with proactive problem-solving skills
• Ability to both create and deliver PowerPoint presentations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate to all levels of the organization
