Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst of New Films to become a member of the Corporate FP&A team and report directly to the VP of Financial Planning.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with Vice President on updating and maintaining financial models for all recently released films
• Assist in preparation of financial support during film greenlighting process
• Model various performance sensitivities for upcoming film releases
• Ensure film P&L and cash forecasts are properly reflected during annual Budget and quarterly reforecasts
• Maintain key financial summaries pertaining to new films
• Work with Corporate Accounting and all business units to ensure film models reflect accurate historical data and/or forecast assumptions
• Assist in updating the generic film model periodically as needed
• Support department in updating data from business units and refreshing internal reports used during the annual Business Plan and quarterly forecasts
• Liaise with business units to ensure information is conveyed accurately and within the designated timelines
• Reconcile and consolidate financial results, identifying key drivers of performance and timing variances in the forecast
• Assist in preparing Excel reports and PowerPoint presentations for Senior Management and Board of Directors
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting team during quarterly and year-end close processes
• Assist in ad hoc corporate finance projects including deal analysis, valuations, M&A and other transactions
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business / Economics or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2 - 3 years financial planning / accounting experience
• Entertainment industry experience preferable
• Aptitude for being precise and detail-oriented
• Analytical mindset to effectively solve complex problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of company personnel
• Desire and proven track record working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well as a team member and deliver accurate information in a timely manner
• Proficiency in Excel
• Knowledge of Essbase, SAP, Word, PPT a plus
