MetroGoldwynMayer Studios Inc., ("MGM") is looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Corporate Accounting team. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for all accounting and reporting functions, including the monthly close and preparing quarterly deliverables for the Amazon team for SEC reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the monthly and quarterly accounting close including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining account fluctuations, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management
• Prepare key quarterly deliverables including balance sheet reconciliations and footnote disclosure support, as needed
• Contribute to Amazon/MGM integration process, including designing and implementing process changes and/or systems where appropriate
• Collaborate with Amazon accounting teams to understand relevant accounting policies and align accounting policies where necessary
• Review agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate accounting treatment
• Research technical accounting guidance and prepare internal technical accounting memos, as needed
• Liaise with other divisions including Financial Planning, Production Finance, Participations, and Tax within MGM and Amazon
• Identify and implement process improvements to close and reporting processes
• Ensure compliance of appropriate accounting policies and internal controls
• Build trust with senior management through effective communication
• Contribute to exciting ad hoc projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related area
• 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong proficiency in Excel
• SAP experience.
• CPA candidate a plus
• Prior public accounting experience in the entertainment industry a plus.
• Operate efficiently in a fastpaced, resultsoriented environment
• Effective verbal and written communication
